World of Wonder

Hardin-Simmons University’s celebration of International Week was handed off to the students on February 28th for World of Wonder.

World of Wonder is a talent show where students show off their skills and share their cultures and traditions. The night consisted of an English hymn, a Brazilian love song, a Chinese duet, the flamenco, interpretive dance to Puerto Rican music, hip-hop stomp-and-clap group dancing, and choreography set to south-of-the-border hip-hop. A particularly unique show was senior biochemistry and molecular biology major Anne Rangel, who solved six Rubix cubes in under four minutes—the last with only one hand!

During the night, games like “lotería” and “This or That” were played with the audience. Snacks were also offered, along with access to a photo booth.

The runway models stand next to one another at the end of the show.

A runway show ended the night with women from all over the world wearing fashion pieces traditional to their home countries to represent almost every continent in the world (sorry, Antarctica!).

If you missed the festivities, keep an eye out for World of Wonder next year!
