Dr. Tim Chandler, Professor of 沟通, has been an HSU faculty member since 2001 and is tenured.
Chandler’s teaching responsibilities include course work in advertising, speech communication, 数字组合, 媒体制作, 以及电影评论.
His research interests include advertising education, the 德州 Forts Trail, and museum exhibit and design. He has worked with Mr. 迈克•琼斯, chair of the Hardin-Simmons Art Department to produce the design and exhibits of the Charles Goodnight 教育 and Visitor Center for the Armstrong County Museum in Claude, 德州, the Berry Gallery of the Red River Valley Museum in Vernon, 德州, and the Austin McCloud Appellate Court Museum in Eastland, 德州. Currently he is finishing his 2017-2018 Sabbatical Project with Fort Belknap on the 德州 Forts Trail and spent 2017 working with the Graham Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksboro Economic Development Corporation producing videos using drone videography to promote their work. He is currently serving on the board of Frontier 德州 in Abilene and coordinating work with their media department for the 德州 Forts Trail.
Chandler co-authored, 博士. 兰迪•阿姆斯特朗 Castle on the Prairie: The Charles Goodnight House (4-0 Press, 2006) and photographed the illustrations for Special Tests of the Cardiopulmonary, Vascular, and Gastrointestinal Systems – O’Connell, O’Connell and Hinman, SLACK INC., Thorofare, New Jersey 2010.
He has served as HSU faculty secretary for two terms, on the 教师 Council, the Technology Committee and the Rank and Tenure Committee. Chandler is active with the American Advertising Federation, serving two terms as president of the local chapter, 空军联队阿比林, and has served at the district level for the Tenth District of the AAF. In 2007 Chandler was named the Advertising Educator of the Year for the Tenth District of the AAF.
Chandler wrote a monthly column on advertising for the Abilene Reporter PG电子游戏 2008 through 2017 and co-authored, 博士. 约翰•戴维斯, “Bridging The Gap: Client Based Projects and Academic Applications in the Advertising Curriculum” in the Coastal Business Journal2011年春季.
Apart from the classroom, Chandler actively involves his students in working with local business and nonprofit organizations to provide hands-on education experience in advertising and marketing. His classes and students work with Hendrick 首页 for Children, Connecting Caring Communities, 葬礼, the 德州 Forts Trails and other organizations to provide services and experience to the benefit of all parties.
He is married to Ginger since 1978 with two children, Brittany (32) and Logan (27) and one large, 毛茸茸的狗, “巴基”.
The Chandlers have been members of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church since 2000 where Chandler has taught a Sunday School class and served as a branding consultant and on the youth leadership committee.
